This will be the last Free Friday for 2011 as teho Labs will be closed Dec 15th until the new year. Encouraged by seeing some free builds of Cygni this week Cygni is back up. The BasicUART though it did work has a technical violation of the datasheet that could cause an issue because a flood fill problem I missed so it will be remade, after that it will be available at least as an add on again to board orders and perhaps by itself.
A random commenter in 24 hours will win the PCB.
Because of the lab closure be sure to get any orders in before the 15th!
We sent Andrew a Cygni PCB and he build it up over Thanksgiving break. We can’t wait to see the projects he does with it. It is always good to see Free PCBs that get built up. Feel free to contact us with your free builds.
Each week we try to give away a PCB or electronic part (shipped free worldwide). This week is a triple or at least double Free Friday depending on how you look at it.
This post will both on the blog and on Google+.
Post a comment the blog to be in the random selection for a Cygni PCB.
Post a public comment on Google+ to be in the random selection for a pair of MSPism PCBs.
The blog is getting hammered with spam so if this is your first comment it will be held in moderation until it can be reviewed (IE don’t worry if it doesn’t appear).
Random winners are picked 24 hours after the post goes live. Good luck.
Just a reminder to new comers we try to have a free giveaway every week for a random commenter. This week is again a Cygni Revision 3 PCB.
I wanted to change it up (since last week was Cygni, hence take 2) but I was out of town all week and didn’t have a chance to test some of the new PCB designs I got in so I am sticking with a proven design that was only changed slightly. The picture above remains Revision 2.
The partlist and assembly guide contains all the info needed to build a Cygni. And the documentation contains how to get started with the board.
Comments remain moderated and will appear after review (current spam to comment ratio ~ 3:1, if you want a deal on Ugg boots for your dog I have a link I am sure…). The winner will be chosen at random in 24 hours. Be sure to check back next week to see what we are giving away, and please tell your friends too! teho Labs relies on you telling others about our site and boards!
We got new PCBs in this week and one of them is Cygni Revision 3, the photo above is actually still revision 2 (I don’t have time to setup the light box right now).
Cygni is a great little board to get started with ARM development. We currently offer the assembled version for 26 USD with free worldwide shipping.
The biggest change in the PCB is that the drills are now large enough tolerance to fit standard headers without any wiggling. There are some minor changes as well: silk revisions, the removal of the 3 do not place items in the revision 2 board and the addition of one extra bypass capacitor.
We were happy to see the first free PCB build done last week, and hope with the easier header drills to see many more free Cygni boards turned into finished Cygnis.
This week I want to try something new with the giveaway. I will give away two Cygni PCBs. One to a random commenter and one to the person who referred the random commenter.
IE if Alice says: “I’d love a Cygni PCB, Cody told me about your site”. Then both Alice and Cody will get free PCBs if Alice replies to the email asking for her mailing address.
The random comment will be selected 24 hours after this post goes live to give everyone world wide a chance to post a comment. Comments remain moderated to keep the ever growing spam off the blog. Good luck.
Edit: Pesse wins
